The Wines

Looe Valley Vineyard produces a focused portfolio of English wines, with grapes chosen specifically to suit the cooler, damper climate of the south-west. The range includes single-varietal whites, a traditional-method sparkling rosé, and three blended wines under the "Locrenton" label that take their name from the local area. Every wine is available to purchase online through the vineyard's Buy Wine & Vouchers shop, with mainland UK delivery subject to the standard UK alcohol age verification (you must be 18+ to purchase, and ID may be required on delivery).

Still Whites

Solaris - £18.95

Solaris is a relatively modern grape variety with Pinot Gris, Riesling and Muscat parentage, bred specifically to perform well in colder, damper North European climates. The Looe Valley version is a crisp, English-style white with citrus aromas on the nose and bright, zesty lemon and lime on the palate. It is an excellent introduction to the house style and a dependable partner for lighter seafood and summer salads.

Bacchus - £17.95

Bacchus is a Sylvaner × Riesling cross and one of the most widely planted aromatic white varieties in the UK. The vineyard's take offers a delicate elderflower bouquet, crisp green apple fruit and a refreshing hint of grapefruit on the finish. It is the kind of wine that drinks beautifully on its own and pairs naturally with Cornish crab, grilled fish or soft, tangy cheeses.

Schönburger - £16.95

Schönburger is an unusual variety in the UK but is extensively planted in Alsace, where it is used to make light wines with a slightly off-dry style. It carries some Pinot Noir in its parentage, which gives the wine its subtle perfume. At Looe Valley, the Schönburger delivers tropical fruit hints on both the nose and the palate - a softer, more aromatic alternative to the crisper Solaris and Bacchus.

Locrenton Dry Reserve - £19.95

The Locrenton Dry Reserve is the vineyard's flagship still white, blended from the three estate-grown varieties: Solaris, Bacchus and Schönburger. The result is a crisp, dry and floral wine with a full range of citrus, tropical and stone-fruit flavours that will continue to develop in the bottle. The producer recommends it either for drinking now or laying down for up to five years.

Sparkling and Rosé

Rosé Brut - £29.95

The vineyard's top-of-range wine is a traditional-method sparkling rosé made from Pinot Noir and Schönburger - the latter being a grape closely related to Gewürztraminer. Expect hints of summer fruits and white peach, with the fine, persistent mousse associated with méthode champenoise production. It is the wine the vineyard recommends for celebrations and special occasions.

Locrenton Rosé - £19.95

The still rosé is a blend of early Pinot Noir, Regent and Solaris. It won a Bronze Prize in the 2025 WineGB competition, recognising both its quality and its reflection of the English still-wine category. On the nose there are hints of strawberry and raspberry alongside citrus and tropical notes; the palate is fruit-forward with a long, lingering finish. Best enjoyed well chilled in hot summer weather.

Red

Locrenton Red - £17.95

The Locrenton Red is made from the vineyard's own early-ripening Pinot Noir combined with Regent grapes sourced from another Cornish vineyard. The result is a fragrant red with aromas of red cherry, blackcurrant, redcurrant and cranberry, layered with hints of white pepper and spice. On the palate it is very fruity with a longer-lasting plum note, and it will develop more complex flavours with time. The winemaker recommends pairing it with richer dishes such as slow-cooked lamb, game or mature cheeses.
