The grounds are a haven for some of the rarest birds in the UK, and the ever-changing tidal river brings a constantly shifting backdrop to every corner of the property.

The History of the Estate

The land that is now Pinkmead Estate has a quietly remarkable history. In the 18th century, the site was a bustling brickworks, an industrial scar on the landscape that supplied materials across the Isle of Wight. Once the brickworks fell silent, the land was left to slowly reclaim itself, and over the following centuries it transformed into the rich, biodiverse landscape that guests see today.

Over the past eight years the estate has been lovingly developed into an intimate, tailored retreat, with thoughtfully designed interiors and a continual focus on sustainability. The brickworks' legacy is still visible in the character of the soil and the spirit of the place, but the estate now reads as a thriving nature reserve first and foremost. Wildflower meadows, thriving woodlands and natural lakes all sit alongside the vineyard and the orchards that supply botanicals for the estate's gin.

The Grounds at a Glance

The 24 acres of Pinkmead's grounds offer an enormous variety of private spaces to explore:

Because Pinkmead is the only property located directly on the Cowes - Newport cycle track, guests can leave the gates and be in town in around 20 minutes by bicycle, or enjoy a four-strong fleet of Pendleton bicycles in the estate's signature colours and vintage finish. Two adult and two child-sized bikes are provided, along with helmets from Cycle Chic in all sizes. For the more relaxed explorer, the estate's electric golf buggy, affectionately named Eddie after the much-loved character from Ab Fab, offers a 2+2 flipper-seat configuration for up to four passengers (or two guests plus a generously laden picnic basket). Eddie's vineyard tractor sister, Patsy, shares the same naming convention.

Accommodation: Bedrooms and Beyond

The Main House

The main house sleeps six comfortably across its bedrooms and is dressed in calming, neutral tones with breathtaking river views from the principal rooms. Furnishings are carefully chosen for comfort as much as aesthetics, and small touches such as fresh botanicals, local produce and hand-selected linens make a stay feel genuinely personal rather than transactional. The house is designed for slow mornings with the curtains drawn and coffee on the terrace, and for slow evenings with a glass of estate gin in hand.

The Kitchen Garden

Independent from the main house, the Kitchen Garden is a beautifully appointed guest suite with a modern, fully equipped kitchen, including a built-in washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, alongside a Sonos system that can be turned up to dance the night away. The bathroom is widely regarded as one of the best on the Isle of Wight, with a view that becomes part of the experience itself.

The Yoga Studio

Also independent from the main house, the Yoga Studio is a wonderfully versatile space: stretch out on the mats, work out with the provided weights, drift off with yoga nidra, or simply curl up on the sofa. A Sonos system provides the soundtrack, and, because why not, the studio is also home to a baby grand piano. The studio doubles as Pinkmead's intimate Residence Cinema Club, with a projector that can throw a film onto the studio's blind or, for the ultimate cinematic moment, onto the wall of the main house. As the team put it, "probably the best little cinema in the world"; and yes, they are biased, but it is hard to argue when the screen comes with river views.

The Vineyard at Pinkmead

The vineyard is the most exciting chapter in the Pinkmead story. After years of discussions about whether the estate's unique microclimate could support vines, the team took the plunge in 2019. They committed to a sustainable, minimal-intervention approach, focusing on organic and biodynamic winemaking principles with the goal of being in full production by 2027.

Pinkmead's bijou vineyard is set up to produce three styles of English wine:

English Sparkling, the headline style for an island that already has a strong reputation for méthode traditionnelle fizz.
English White, a still white crafted from cool-climate varieties suited to the Isle of Wight.
English Rosé, pressed from red grapes grown on the estate's south-facing slopes.

Pinkmead is also proudly joining the pesticide-free movement, making it one of the first wine producers in the UK to focus on a "no nasties" approach. Nothing wasted, nothing added that nature wouldn't approve of. Once the grapes have been sent to press, the team intends to use the leftover grape skins, a natural by-product of winemaking, as the foundation of a future balsamic vinegar and a range of skincare products. The skincare line will be available in every residency, completing a circular approach that takes the vineyard from ground to glass to bathroom shelf.

The vineyard is fully sustainable in spirit, designed to support the wider ecosystem of the estate. The vines act as a wildlife corridor, the soil beneath them supports pollinators, and the produce eventually feeds back into the residencies themselves. Guests can wander down to the vineyard during their stay and watch the project mature in real time.

Pinkmead Estate Wild Samphire Gin

While the vineyard matures, Pinkmead's most established alcoholic offering is its Estate Wild Samphire Gin, a boutique-distilled spirit that has rapidly become one of the most decorated craft gins on the Isle of Wight.

How It's Made

Pinkmead Wild Samphire Gin is a 70cl expression at 40% ABV, distilled in small batches and infused with botanicals harvested directly from the estate itself. Samphire, the salty, succulent coastal plant that grows wild around the tidal reaches of the River Medina, anchors the gin with a clean, mineral character that is unmistakably of place. Other estate-grown botanicals complete the recipe, giving the gin a sense of terroir that mirrors the estate's wider philosophy: nothing added that nature wouldn't put there first.

Price and Availability

Pinkmead Wild Samphire Gin is priced at £43 plus shipping (tax included) per 70cl bottle, with a strict over-18 purchase policy. The estate runs a pre-order window, with the next release scheduled for 1 June 2026. Bottles can be purchased online and are also included in every residency as a welcome gift; a small but considered way to introduce guests to the spirit of the estate.

For guests who want to take to the water in style, Pinkmead partners with Attitude Charter for a curated Solent experience shaped around some of the most iconic destinations on the South Coast. Massage with Healthwell Solutions

Laura and her team from Healthwell Solutions bring a menu of professional massages to the estate's yoga studio, including aromatherapy, deep tissue and Swedish options. Bespoke treatments can also be designed for individual needs, alongside facial treatments to promote suppleness, vitality and a rejuvenated complexion. Prices start from £70 per person, with a two-guest minimum. Treatments are based off-estate and must be booked in advance of the stay.

Balance + Glo Wellness

Balance + Glo is a team of Isle of Wight wellness experts co-founded by yoga teacher Jenny Stewart and personal trainer Evelyn Joyce. They offer private classes tailored to guest needs, outdoor or indoor depending on numbers, covering yoga, Pilates, fitness, SUP yoga, nutrition and mindfulness. The team is particularly strong on slow-flow vinyasa, Power Vinyasa, STOTT Pilates and functional fitness coaching. Whether you want a deep Yoga Nidra before bed, a dynamic morning flow on the lawn, or a strength session that leaves you ready for lunch, the team can build a programme around your stay.

In-Residence Cooking Masterclasses

For guests who want to take their residency to another level, the estate offers In-Residence cooking experiences, whether that is hand-rolling pasta with the family or cooking a celebration meal with friends. The Guest Experience: Check-In and Concierge

Pinkmead's guest experience is built around a dedicated 24/7 concierge service, ensuring that every detail of a stay, from a private chef to a personalised wellness retreat, is curated to suit the guests. Check-in is offered as a self-service option, or guests can request a meet-and-greet from a check-in agent. There is even the option to choose a preferred radio station for the welcome, piped through the state-of-the-art Sonos system.

On arrival, guests are greeted with a bottle of estate-distilled Pinkmead Gin and an Isle of Wight Graze platter, sourced from local producers. The Graze platter brand, one of the estate's artisan partners, offers everything from charcuterie boards to fruit and vegetable platters, and additional produce can be purchased in residence.

Other key partnerships include Pure Lakes Skincare, whose award-winning organic, paraben-free, cruelty-free skincare range is available to guests during their stay. All products and produce from Pinkmead's partner network can be purchased in residence; guests simply need to ask a member of the team.

Weddings, Celebrations and Private Events

Pinkmead is available to host dog-friendly celebrations, pop-ups and events for up to 40 guests during the spring, summer and autumn months. As a female-owned family business and proud advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community, the estate is open to all and celebrates the breadth of diversity in the world. Four-legged guests are equally welcome, with a dedicated canine concierge service leaving the wedding party free to focus on the day itself.

Whether the aim is the full exclusive luxury experience or a small and intimate private event, the estate offers flexibility. From staging to world-class exclusive artists, from island-grown produce to walking the vines while drinking from the previous harvest, the platform has been built to combine the estate's vineyard adventure with its event hosting capability, a true "ground to table with no carbon footprint" experience.

Wedding and Event Pricing

The estate offers two main event packages:

1-Day Event: £4,500.00 (inc. VAT). Includes estate exclusivity for one day, with carriages by midnight. Recommended for smaller weddings and events; can be hired on a day basis for set-up, ceremony, wedding breakfast and carriages by 11pm.
3 Days / 2 Nights Estate Hire: £6,000.00 (inc. VAT) midweek, £7,500.00 (inc. VAT) on weekends. Includes estate exclusivity for two days.

Payment terms are straightforward:

Reservation fee: £2,000 (secures the date, then held as a returnable breakage deposit).
50% due 12 months before the date.
25% due 6 months before the date.
25% due 3 months before the date.

Accommodation Pricing and How to Book

Pinkmead Estate operates on a weekly rental basis, with a Friday changeover (check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am). A £500 returnable security deposit is required 7 days before arrival and is returned within 7 days of check-out, provided there are no damages. For stays longer than seven days, the team should be contacted directly for discounted rates.
