Soloms Court was designed in 1905 by the distinguished English architect Sir Edward Guy Dawber, who created the property as a stately home for a London financier seeking a refined country retreat. For more than 120 years the estate has remained in private hands, serving as a family home across generations and undergoing a major restoration to its original grandeur in the 1990s. While the architectural pedigree and historic landscape have been carefully preserved, the modern custodians of Soloms Court have added a new chapter to the estate's story: the planting of a vineyard dedicated to the production of high-quality, eco-conscious English wine.

The vineyard at Soloms Court was established in 2022, with a focused objective to produce still wines of the highest quality using environmentally responsible methods. The team has chosen to concentrate on Pinot Noir, a variety that has proven its capacity to produce world-class wines across the cooler climates of Burgundy, Oregon, and increasingly across southern England.

The Terroir: Ancient Woodland, Chalk Soils, and a 150-Metre Vista

Soloms Court sits at an elevation of 150 metres above sea level, cradled within an ancient woodland ecosystem that lends the vineyard a uniquely protected microclimate.
