The Wines
Dedham Vale's wine collection is built around a small, deliberately curated range of still and sparkling English wines. All are crafted in small batches at the on-site winery.

The Painter's Light is a delicate, fruit-forward English rosé made from Pinot Noir Précoce, capturing the soft glow of evening light that bathes the vines in rose and gold. Wild salmon pink in the glass, it offers aromas of wild strawberry and red currant with a strawberries-and-cream palate and a dry, crisp finish. Willow Lake 2025 - Albariño & Orion, £17.50
Willow Lake is a fresh and elegant white blend built on Albariño and Orion. The wine takes its name from the part of the estate where willow meets water in still reflection. Expect a pale-gold pour with aromas of citrus and a hint of sea-breeze minerality, a crisp palate of delicate citrus fruit, and a clean, refreshing finish with a delicate mineral edge. Classic Cuvée - Traditional Method English Sparkling, £27.50
The Dedham Vale Classic Cuvée is a traditional-method English sparkling wine crafted from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Reichensteiner, one of the estate's German varieties. It is aged on the lees for 21 months, which builds texture and a subtle richness without losing the wine's bright, herbaceous character. Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles, it offers green-apple and citrus zest aromas with subtle brioche notes from lees ageing, a delicate mousse and vibrant acidity, and a lingering citrus-and-toast finish. Vineyard Tours & Guided Tastings
The signature visitor experience at Dedham Vale is the Tour & Tasting, which runs on selected Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. The format pairs an unhurried walk through the vines and winery with a guided tasting of four wines.
What to Expect
The experience begins with a stroll through the vineyard and winery, where the team explains the journey from vine to bottle. You will hear about the estate's history, the grape varieties grown on site, the winemaking process and the unique character of English wine in this corner of East Anglia. From there, the group moves to a relaxed, informal tasting session of four signature wines, with the winemakers on hand to talk through flavour, style and food pairing.
Guests can then choose to add an optional vineyard picnic featuring locally sourced produce - the perfect way to settle into a quiet spot among the vines for a leisurely lunch paired with the wines tasted. After the formal session, you are welcome to stay and unwind with a glass or bottle on site, taking in the beauty of the estate at your own pace.

Stay With Us: Vineyard Cottages in Essex
The estate plans to launch two countryside holiday cottages, both dog-friendly and both scheduled to be available from 2027. Each is self-catered and equipped with a TV, oven and microwave, and both include a delicious breakfast hamper to help start your stay. Dogs are welcome, but owners are asked to let the team know in advance and to keep pets off the beds and out of the bedrooms.
Wine Maker's Cottage - £225.00
A one-bedroom cottage designed for a cosy and comfortable stay for couples or solo travellers. It is one of two properties planned for launch.
Willow Lake Cottage - £275.00
A larger two-double-bedroom cottage with a welcoming living space featuring a traditional log burner and a private terrace overlooking the lake - ideal for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine as the sun goes down.
Events at Dedham Vale Vineyard
Dedham Vale runs a varied calendar of events throughout the year, ranging from the regular Tour & Tasting sessions to live music evenings, art exhibitions, seasonal celebrations and wellness retreats. Recent and upcoming highlights include:
- Tour & Tasting - Friday and Saturday mornings from 11:00 am, running throughout the summer and into early autumn.
- Art on the Vines - The vineyard's official reopening event, held 12 - 14 June 2026, featuring more than 50 of the region's finest artists, live music and local food trucks. Friday night was ticketed, with Saturday and Sunday open from 10 am to 4 pm. The artwork receiving the most visitor votes across the weekend won the "People's Vine Award".
