Things to Know Before You Stay
Road Green is a working vineyard, so on some weekdays there will be people working in the vines - this is part of the charm of staying on a real farm. Guests are warmly invited to walk among the vines, but are politely asked not to touch the plants or the grapes. Bonfires, BBQs, Chinese lanterns and fireworks are not permitted in the vineyard, and the site has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. Smoking is not allowed inside the cabin, including e-cigarettes and vapes.
One of the unexpected joys of a stay at the Grape Escape is the resident menagerie: guests are welcome to walk down to the neighbouring field to meet the vineyard's donkeys and alpacas. As tempting as it is, please don't feed them or let them out of their fenced paddocks.
Hot Tub Safety
The wood-fired hot tub is one of the highlights of any stay, but Road Green takes safety very seriously. Adults with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, or any serious illness, and anyone who is pregnant, should consult a doctor before use. The water temperature must never exceed 40°C, and immersion should be limited to about 15 minutes in any hour. Only plastic glasses are permitted near the tub, and the heater and flue should always be treated with care.
